Hello Dixon Park Nippers friends and family. Welcome to a new season of Nippers!
We can’t wait to welcome you back to our Club. The Nippers season will officially commence on Sunday October 16th for a 9 am start in front of the Dixon Park clubhouse.
We have a number of important announcements to make:
The first is that registrations for Nippers are now open! You can find registration and fees information under Nippers on the Dixon Park SLSC website. There are also guides on how to register. To register online go to
https://members.sls.com.au/The second is that we are going to have a Sausage and Signup Day on the morning of Sunday the September 11th in front of the Dixon Park clubhouse starting from around 10:30 am. Come on down and have your questions answered, have a sausage and a chat!
The third is related to the swimming proficiencies that the Nippers need to have passed to be able to participate in water activities. These will be held at Charlestown Pool on Sunday the 18th of September for a morning start to get proficiencies completed for Nippers in the Under 8s and up. We will negotiate a time to do the proficiencies for the Under 6s and Under 7s in the Merewether Baths when the season is underway.
The fourth is a call out to anyone who might want to register as an Age Manager to help teach Nippers. Last year we had lots of Nippers but few Age Managers and we need to identify as many people as possible because there are limits about the ratio of Nippers to Age Mangers so that we can manage safely. Being an Age Manager isn’t difficult. It really means helping out on the beach, helping to watch the Nippers and wearing a super cool green shirt! We will try to run a training evening prior to the season commencing, depending on how many people come forward to help.
Finally, we’d like to introduce you to the Nippers Committee for the 2022/23 season:
John Miller is the Junior Activities Co-ordinator so is managing Nippers this season
Alan Cross will be Water Safety Manager
Cassie Criss will be Registrar
Claire Szabo will be the Age Manager Manager
Marc Henty will manage surf carnivals
This leaves us one crucial role short, the Merchandise Manager! They help organise and sell the Nippers gear and Dicko merch. If anyone would like to step up and have a go in the role, it would be really appreciated.
We will be putting out more information shortly.
Welcome back, we can’t wait to see you again.
Your Dixon Park Nippers Committee
